How to make this milky CHAI in under 5 minutes?
When we designed our signature Chai we wanted to create a blend that is full flavored, is made entirely of natural ingredients, has a little bit of a kick, is delightful and extremely well balanced, and can be easily prepared in under five minutes.
Use 1 to 2 teaspoon(s) of tea per cup.
Add about half a cup of filtered water at 95ºC...
...and allow to steep for 4 minutes.
Strain the the infused tea into a larger sized cup.
Add half a cup of hot (and frothed) full cream milk.
Add honey and/or raw sugar to your liking...
Kick back and enjoy!
But hey, there are thousand ways to make Chai!
Please feel free to try some of these
The stove top method:
Traditionally, Chai is slowly brewed with strong black tea, spices and herbs in a mixture of water and (buffalo) milk. All ingredients are infused in a pot over heat. This allows for a more rigorous flavor extraction, which might result in a slightly stronger taste.
For the traditional method, put 1/2 cup filtered water, 1/2 cup full cream milk (or milk alternatives such as soy and almond) and 1 to 2 teaspoons of Sensado Chai blend in a clean pot. Bring to a gentle simmer for about 15 minutes, keep stirring continuously.
Add honey and/or raw sugar to your taste. Strain the tea and serve.
Who wouldn’t love a freshly made and all natural iced Chai that keeps you cool and active on those hot and lazy summer days?
For the iced version, simply infuse 2 teaspoons of Sensado Chai with 1/2 cup of water at 95°C in a teapot, saucepan or small plunger for 4 to 6 minutes. Strain the tea, and let cool down in the fridge. Fill a tall glass with some ice cubes. Add 1/2 cup of full cream milk. Pour the Chai tea over the top, and stir well. Add honey or raw sugar to your taste.
Serve immediately, and top with whipped cream or vanila ice cream if desired.
Vegan Chai Latte:
It’s easily made vegan by simply replacing regular dairy milk with your favorite plant milk, such as home made Almond milk, Oat milk or Soy.
Milk free Chai:
For those who prefer to drink Chai without milk, simply replace the portion with water. Infuse 1-2 teaspoons of tea blend per cup for 2-3 minutes at 95°C for a medium strength result, or steep a little longer if you like a bolder taste.
